Day #5

Good Evening!

Fasting day number 2 - which for some reason I always find easier than fasting day number 1 started with a mug of hot water and a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar!

Did a bit of shopping today ready for the rest of the week and was having a quick browse at the 'Fat Free' foods/products and comparing them to the normal ones. It is unbelieveable the amount of extra sugar and crap that they pack into the fat free / low fat stuff!!
When I first started losing weight, I would opt for 'low fat' or 'fat free' every single time, it's only by doing my own research and getting the right guidence that I came to realise that I was just putting a load of sugar and artificial crap into my body!
People who have no idea about good nutrition are just going to automatically go for this stuff in a supermarket if they are 'dieting'. It's no wonder people get sugar cravings which turns into binging out on all the wrong foods and then before you know it, Monday comes back around and they start their 'diet' again, causing 'yo yo dieting' which is probably much worse than just being overweight in the first place.

I recently watched a programme on Netflix called 'Food Matters'
Really interesting documentary acutally, Its a part of 3 documentaries, the other two also on Netflix called 'Hungry for change' and ' Fat, sick and nearly dead'
On the programme, they were explaining how doctors are no longer trained in nutrition. It then goes on to say that most chronic diseases can actually be cured through simple diet and lifestyle changes! I find this absolute madness to be honest! It's no wonder our NHS is in such a financial state! Why is life-long medications being the number 1 'go to' thing for things like diabetes and cardiovascular type conditions, when if people just ate a good healthy diet with regular exercise could reduce the risk of such horrible diseases!
Taking a pill for this or a pill for that is not actually teaching anyone anything and most of the time people are diagnosed with these diseases and still carry on with their same old lifestyle.

These documentaries are well worth a watch, so if you get chance, give them a go! I was glued to the TV ( and I haven't got a very long attention span when it comes to TV)

Saw this quote last night, i must say, for me, it hits the nail on the head!

So as today was another fasting day for me, it was my second serving of my banana baked oats 547 calories.
I remembered my yoghurt today so I had 85g of the Total greek yoghurt 48 calories.

I haven't drunk as much today as I usually do on my fasting days, only about 4 pints of water and about 3 mugs of fruit tea but it has been especially busy in work so just not had chance.

That finishes today on 595 calories!

I'm looking forward to eating tomorrow! =)

Catch ya soon X
