Day #11

Good Evening all!

How quick are these weeks going?? Fasting day has come around again!!

I started my day with a mug of warm water, lemon and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

I have the same breakfast almost every day so when it comes to fasting, I like to try out new things.
Today it is Kedgeree

I also had it at 11am today, a little bit later than normal just to try and keep the hunger away for a little longer.

 I used
300g Tilda wholegrain basmati rice - 351 calories
125g spinach - 36 calories
10g hot curry powder - 63 calories
2 eggs - 140 calories

590 CALORIES

( I doubled the ingredients and made it ready for tomorrows breakfast too)

As usual with my fasting days I drink lots of water, I lost count today but I know that it was 6 pints before 1pm which is always a good thing as i need to go downstairs to get to the toilet so it's up and down the stairs all day for me!

I work in an office based environment so I am sat infornt of a computer all day which I absolutley hate! To get moving I volunteered myself to be the 'Tea Lady' so

At 10am its Tea and Toast time!!

Every morning I make anything between 8 - 12 rounds of thick, freshly sliced white toast for everyone in work, now if that is'nt will power then I dont know what is! - Especially on fasting days!

When I first started working where I work now, I always remember being told - 'Oh after 2 years of being here, I guarantee you will have put on at least 2 stone'
That planted the seed in my head straight away not get into the habbit of eating all the crap they have lying around every day. I stuck to my guns and low and behold, less than 2 years later I am over 2 stone lighter! Result!

I would say that bread is what I miss the most but I also know it was part of the reason I used to be so overweight!
I had always been a 'Chunky' child who never really went out to play with friends. I would always find an excuse to get out of games of PE in school and believe it or not I was a very shy kid!

I was really conscious that I was bigger than my friends so didn't like to go out or shopping with them as i knew i wouldn't be able to fit into the clothes that they could so I wasn't very active at all. I would stay in, Watch TV, play the computer, read books and write stories etc.. Which would also mean I would be looking for nice treats to eat.

My typical breakfast would be a big bowl of cocopops, 2 slices of white toast, a cup of tea with 4 sugars and a handful of chocolate digestive biscuits.
For lunch it would be something like sausage sandwiches - with 4 slices of bread and smothered in butter and tomato sauce and a packet of crisps.
For Dinner it would be something with chips
I would have supper too - something like heinz tomato soup and 2 slices of bread
I would then pig out on chocolate while watching TV in the evening.

As I got older and bigger, something had to be done!!
I remember walking into primark on a sunny summer afternoon to buy some light linen trousers (I was too conscious to wear shorts). I remember buying a few pairs of size 20 trousers all in different colours for the summer. When I got home, I tried them on and I couldn't get them passed my thighs! I just fell to my knees and sobbed my heart out!

I woke up the next morning and decided to join Weight Watchers that night!
I was only about 16 at the time so I was really nervous about joining the club, but one of my friends joined the same day as me which give me the little bit of support I needed. I remember jumping on the scales, having absolutely no idea how heavy I was, gobsmacked to see that I weight over 15 stone. I had made the first move in the right direction though and put 100% focus into losing the weight. At first it was hard, being 16 I didn't really cook or experiment with food much but my first weigh in I had lost 4lb. This put a massive smile of my face and gave me the confidence to go on with it.

I Lost quite a bit of weight with Weight watchers but then kind of got stuck so I then joined Slimming world. I loved slimming world, I lost most of my weight on the slimming world plan and learned to cook by experimenting with all different recipes and cooking from scratch.
Though these clubs did work for me, they did teach me bad habits. Weight watchers taught me to save up points for treats at the end of the week and Slimming world encouraged me to eat massive portions! I was actually told that on a 'Green' day, If I wanted to eat a field of potatoes, then I could eat a field of potatoes and if I wanted to eat 15 steaks for breakfast on a 'Red' day, then I could eat 15 steaks for breakfast. I would say that portion control has been one of the hardest things for me to get control of since starting New Beginnings hence why you see me weighing everything!

Anyways, I think i have babbled enough for tonight... Can you tell I'm trying to keep myself busy on my fasting day!! haha

Laters X
