So, this is my second day of getting to grips with this high protein plan.
I started my day with a mug of hot water and apple cider vinegar
At 6.30am it was a protein shake
PROTEIN 21g
CALORIES 115g
BREAKFAST 8.30am
40g Oats - 5g Protein 150 calories
250ml Soya light - 5g protein 68 calories
Banana - 1.5g protein 121 calories
and a cup of coffee with 100ml soya light 2g protein 27 calories
PROTEIN - 13.5g
CALORIES - 366
At 10.30am I had a large mug of milky coffee made with 300ml of soya light
PROTEIN - 6g
CALORIES - 81
I had my half day today so it was a 12pm finish where I went straight to bodyfreaks in Llansamlet to buy protein powder.
Kathy had very kindly given me some of her protein to try in strawberry which was really tasty, but when I saw the chocolate, I just had to have it!
It was then straight to Robs for PT, I love my PT sessions, they make me feel stronger and stronger every week and I can see myself progressing.
Straight after PT it was home and I just had to have a taste of the chocolate protein shake.
2.15pm Chocolate protein shake
PROTEIN - 21g
CALORIES - 115
I also had 2 slices of beef pastrami that was left over from yesterday
PROTEIN - 5g
CALORIES - 36
At 4.30pm I made up some protein pancakes.
I used different protein for this, Its one that doesn't taste very nice as a drink as it just doesn't blend well, but it makes really tasty pancakes.
I mixed the powder with 1 egg and just added water until it was the consistency I wanted.
PROTEIN - 30g
CALORIES - 198
I added a dollop (50g) of Total Greek yoghurt for a little more protein to the pancakes only to realise that your body can only absorb between 20 - 30g of protein at any one time.
I had already had 30g of protein in this meal so it just meant that the protein didn't count but the calories did.
I wasted 29 calories here, but it's a lesson learned. We all make mistakes when we start something new.

After a bouncing step aerobics class (7.45pm) it was another serving of yesterdays Fajita Lettuce Wraps
PROTEIN -30g
CALORIES - 280
At about 9.30-10pm tonight I am going to have my last protein shake
PROTEIN - 21g
CALORIES -115g
I have learned a lot already but eating a high protein diet.
The main one is that you need to be more prepared than ever! - it's little and often trying to get a good amount of protein in without going over the 30g or it's just wasted calories.
Eating this way has made me drink quite a bit more than normal. I have had about 7 pints of water today compared to my usual 4 pints.
As time goes on I hope to get smarter and make the most of every meal!

CALORIES - 1335
This is all so new to me, I have planned quite well for tomorrow so I hope to be hitting more protein and less calories.
